Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker has been playing new material live lately with his "JARV IS..." project, and now he has released an official studio recording of one of those songs, "MUST I EVOLVE?" It's nearly seven minutes of hypnotic rock with both Jarvis' whisper and his singing voice in fine form. He made it with the JARV IS... band -- which includes Serafina Steer, Emma Smith, Andrew McKinney, Jason Buckle and Adam Betts -- and "most of the music on this single" was recorded the night of the band's April 7, 2018 show in Peak Cavern, Derbyshire. No word on an album, but the new single comes with this message:

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
This single will only be available to buy at live shows. JARV IS… primarily a live experience.

WHY?
Life is primarily a live experience.

The next JARV IS... shows are All Points East, Primavera Sound, NOS Primavera Sound, and then "a cave in Ibiza."
