Jaye Jayle, the goth-Americana project of Young Widows' Evan Patterson, is touring with Wovehand this year and he just shared a non-album cut from the sessions for last year's No Trail and Other Unholy Paths, which features Cheyenne Mize on strings, Emma Ruth Rundle on guest vocals, and a choir. "It was a difficult choice to not include 'Soline' on our album," Evan says. "Alas, the uplifting and almost gospel nature of the song just didn’t meld with the dark foliage of the record." It's still a lot darker than Evan makes it sound on paper, but we understand why it was difficult not to include it; this song is great.

The tour with Wovenhand hits Brooklyn's Saint Vitus on 9/14 (tickets), and Jaye Jayle also plays the Sargent House show at Austin's Levitation with the amazing lineup of Deafheaven, Russian Circles, Emma Ruth Rundle, Brutus, and Lingua Ignota.

Emma is also doing a full-band Europe/UK tour with Evan and Jaye Jayle's Todd Cook in her band, and that includes dates with Brutus, Messa, and more. She also plays The Cure's Pasadena Daydream festival in California. All dates here.
