Jeff Goldblum tickled the ivories, cracked jokes and hung with fans @ Le Poisson Rouge (pics)
Jeff Goldblum and his jazz band The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra hit NYC on Tuesday night for early and late shows at Le Poisson Rouge. We caught the early show and, as you might expect from a cool cat like Jeff, it was a loose, fun and chill evening. About 45 minutes before the show was supposed to start, Jeff came out to just mingle with the audience, making jokes and asking fans Jeff Goldblum trivia ("In what movie did I star with Shelly Winters?").
After making the rounds and taking selfies, Jeff sauntered onto the stage and brought out the band, and the evening officially started. Like his record, which is a faux live album complete with banter, Jeff would alternate between songs with the band and doing bits with the audience, like Godfather trivia and bringing up folks to read jokes in the style of Rodney Dangerfield. You can check out pictures from the early show in the gallery above, and the early show setlist is below.
