Tis the season, and if you dream of Christmas sweaters with chevron patterns and understand the joke image above, you will be glad to learn that Jherek Bischoff has just released an EP of Twin Peaks inspired holiday covers called Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire Walk With Me. Taking on such holiday classics as "White Christmas," "The Christmas Song" and Vince Guaraldi's Peanuts classic "Christmas Time is Here," Jherek gives them an an Angelo Badalamenti style, complete with that iconic plucky bass and washes of of synths. Says Jherek, "It's dark, it's moody and it's totally ridiculous, but it might also be the Christmas EP you never knew you wanted." It's pretty cool and you can stream it below.

If you didn't watch the totally weird, totally amazing new season of Twin Peaks (aka Twin Peaks: The Return), it's out now on Blu-ray and DVD, and is on-demand and streaming as well. David Lynch called it an 18-hour film and if you'd like to see it like that and live in NYC, you can...for free! Vulture points out that MoMA will screen the whole thing across three days in January: “Part 1” through “Part 4” will be screened on January 5; “Part 5” through “Part 11” (which includes the phantasmagoric "Gotta Light" eighth episode) will be screened on January 6; and “Part 12 through “Part 18” wrap things up, as much as Lynch allows, on January 8. The screenings are part of MoMA's annual series on "the year's finest films."
