Joan Shelley

Joan Shelley will follow 2014's Electric Ursa with her third album, Over and Even, this Friday (9/4) via No Quarter (pre-order). She recorded it with frequent collaborator Nathan Salsburg, and it also features contributions from Glen Dentinger, Rachel Grimes, Will Oldham and Dan Dorff. If you're unfamiliar with Joan and wondering what to expect here, the most obvious comparison is probably early '70s/late '60s Joni Mitchell, but this is more than Blue part two. Joan really knows how to craft a song, and her voice is perfect for this kind of stuff. Listen to the whole thing below (via NPR).

Joan begins a tour on the day of the release, and it brings her to NYC on September 8 at Joe's Pub. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
