Joanna Newsom cancels Los Angeles shows

Joanna Newsom is in the midst of her first shows since 2016, a run of intimate solo harp/piano dates she’s called “The String/Keys Incident – An Evening with Joanna Newsom.” She’s currently over halfway through the tour’s seven NYC shows, and scheduled to head to Chicago, Milwaukee, Carmel CA, and San Francisco next, wrapping up in Los Angeles with five dates at the Hollywood Legion Theater in December. Unfortunately, those LA dates have been cancelled. In a statement from Joanna’s label Drag City, they cite “unforeseen issues with the Hollywood Legion Theater”:

Bummer news, people: Due to unforeseen issues with the Hollywood Legion Theater, Joanna Newsom’s five shows at the venue in December have regrettably been canceled. Joanna greatly shares in the disappointment of ticketholders, and the search for an appropriate new venue at which the shows can be rescheduled in the future will continue. All online ticket purchases will now be automatically refunded. Refunds for tickets purchased elsewhere are available at the place of purchase.
