The Strokes

As mentioned briefly in our "What's Going on Wednesday?" post, John Grant will release Pale Green Ghosts on May 14 via his new label home of Partisan. While the record still has some of the piano-bassed spacerock that distinguished his great 2010 LP, Queen of Denmark, the new album goes deep into electro-noir territory as well. The album was made with Biggi Veira, of Iceland's Gus Gus and features guest appearances from Sinead O'Connor and saxophonist Óskar Gudjónsson. The new direction suits Grant's sonorous barritone well.
