John Nolan playing Straylight Run songs & solo material on 2018 tour
John Nolan has been back in Taking Back Sunday for seven years and three albums, and he also continues to lead a solo career. He announced a short Northeast solo tour (with a backing band) happening around his birthday in 2018, and “every night the stage will be decorated with streamers and balloons, everyone will get little party favors.” He’s promising to play solo material and music from his classic and underrated band Straylight Run.
The tour includes an Asbury Park show on February 28 at House of Independents (tickets) and a Brooklyn show on March 1 at Union Pool (tickets). The whole tour goes on sale Thursday (12/14) at noon. All dates are listed below.
This weekend, Taking Back Sunday are doing their annual holiday shows at NJ’s Starland Ballroom. They play Friday (12/15) with The Dear Hunter and Diet Cig, and Saturday (12/16) with The Maine and Modern Chemistry. Also Saturday afternoon is their pop-up shop/acoustic set at the same venue.
