John Parish announces solo LP, shares PJ Harvey duet

John Parish is releasing a new solo album, Bird Dog Dante, on June 15 via Thrill Jockey (pre-order). After a few instrumental records, this is Parish’s first “song oriented album” in almost a decade, and it features a duet with his longtime collaborator PJ Harvey. That duet, “Sorry For Your Loss,” is the album’s first single, and it’s not a million miles away from the last two PJ Harvey albums (both made with John Parish), which is a very exciting thing. Listen below.

John Parish is also doing a Nick Drake tribute concert in Bristol, which features Aldous Harding (whose great 2017 album Party was produced by Parish), Nadine Khouri, H Hawkline, Jeremy Hogg, Jack Ogborne, and The Lochrian String Quartet.

Just yesterday, PJ Harvey posted an awesome playlist she made called “Death Singing.” Also yesterday, we premiered a new song by Fenne Lily, whose upcoming debut album features co-production by John Parish.
