all-the-best

John Prine hosting Dominican Republic fest w/ Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, more

John Prine is hosting his own music festival, called All The Best, which takes place November 11-15, 2019 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Prine will perform four times at the all-inclusive fest, and along for the ride will be Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Iris Dement, I’m With Her, Amanda Shires’ Awesome Muscular Trio, Paul Thorn, Tyler Childers, Gretchen Peters and more to be announced. The festival is also promising unique collaborations across the four days. Prine and his wife visited Punta Cana on vacation a few years ago, which gave him the inspiration for the festival. He writes on the festival website:

I’m so blessed to have enjoyed almost 50 years of bringing my music to fans all across the USA and around the world. Along the way we have had some wonderful adventures and have met thousands of dedicated fans – indeed many of them feel like family to us now. In the 1970’s they shared my music with their children and those same children are now passing it on to a new generation. I couldn’t be more grateful. I still enjoy the heck out of getting up there to play shows every night.

We want to celebrate all these years of music, family and friendship. Oh Boy Records have partnered with Sixthman to create a one-of-a-kind festival that brings together songwriters who inspire me and give great hope for the future of the music we all love.

All-inclusive festival packages are currently on presale.

John recently released a video for “Knockin’ on Your Screen Door,” off this year’s Tree of Forgiveness album, which features Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires, plus Margo Price, Sturgill Simpson, Dan Auerbach, and Elizabeth Cook. Watch that below.
