John Reis & the Blind Shake @ Mercury Lounge 2/26/2015

Post-punks in Hawaiian shirts Swami John Reis & The Blind Shake played their second of two NYC shows last Thursday (2/26) at Mercury Lounge, in support of their collaborative Modern Surf Classics album. With February being one of the coldest months NYC has seen in ages, the Pacific wave vibes were especially welcome, and these guys bring an intensity to their performance rivaling the Banzai Pipeline. Pictures from that show are in this post. Their tour wrapped up over the weekend, but The Blind Shake will be putting back on their signature jumpsuits to play Austin during SXSW later this month.

The So So Glos, like at Saint Vitus the night before, opened the show. Their only upcoming show scheduled at the moment is at Asbury Park’s Skate & Surf Fest in May. Pics from their Mercury Lounge show, plus more of John Reis & The Blind Shake, below…
