The North Brooklyn Chamber has been hosting a series of events called "Because The Night" which feature panel discussions with local industry figures regarding the state of nightlife in Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick. It's a good chance to get up close and personal with some of the folks who work behind the scenes at venues, media outlets and more. The next edition happens July 9 at National Sawdust and Elsewhere's Dhruv Chopra will moderate a discussion featuring NYC Nightlife Mayor Ariel Palitz, Courtenay Casey (National Sawdust), Charley Ryan (Brooklyn Bowl), Dave Castillo (Saint Vitus) and BrooklynVegan's own Bill Pearis.

The evening will also include a look at this year's MONDO.nyc festival, presented by the event's founders/producers, and the evening kicks off with cocktails, snacks and networking. It's free and open to the public but you do need to RSVP.
