Jon Spencer adds West Coast dates to tour (watch new "Beetle Boots" video)

One of the highlights from Jon Spencer‘s solo debut, Spencer Sings the Hits, is “Beetle Boots,” where he rails against fakes and phonies — all against a typically explosive backing. He’s just released a video for that one, directed by Andrew Hooper in pop art style, and featuring his solo band, the HITmakers — aka Bob Bert (Sonic Youth/Pussy Galore), Sam Coomes (Quasi, Heatmiser), and M. Sord. It premieres in this post and you can watch below.

Jon and the HITmakers kick off their 2019 tour on Friday in Philadelphia, and will make their way through the South and Southwest before heading back to the Northeast for shows with Bodega, including a Brooklyn show at Rough Trade on January 31 (tickets). Jon’s also just added West Coast dates in February (just after a quick trip to Japan), including L.A., San Francisco, Seattle and Portland. All dates are listed below.
