Jonathan Toubin played an Arm Wrestling party at an American Legion, touring
DJ Jonathan Toubin headlined a night of dancing, arm wrestling and Cutty Sark whiskey open bar at an American Legion in Gowanus last Thursday night (3/30). The unique event at a long-standing establishment in a gentrifying neighborhood right outside Park Slope was a great taste of old school Brooklyn. A large portion of the crowd at the Legion were Legion members aka veterans and their families. The other half of the crowd were younger folks who RSVP'd for the festivities at the veterans' clubhouse.
The main event (no offense Mr. Toubin) was the arm wrestling. They not only meant business, but many of them represented the the New York Arm Wrestling Association. Bummed you missed it? The championship matches were caught on video and you can watch below.
Like the funky music and Jonathan, the legion itself seems to be frozen in time, making for an overall great vibe. A few photos from the night are also in the gallery above.
