It’s been a decade since Sigur Ros frontman Jonsi and his partner Alex Somers released a collaborative album under the name Riceboy Sleeps, and Jonsi & Alex are now taking that album on a 10th anniversary tour this fall. The tour hits Seattle, San Francisco, LA, Denver, Chicago, Montreal, Toronto, DC, Boston, and Brooklyn. Tickets for all dates go on BrooklynVegan presale Wednesday (4/3) at noon local time, and the public on-sale starts Friday (4/5) at 10 AM local. Check back here Wednesday morning for the presale password.
Jonsi & Alex be performing the album live in full for “the first and last time,” and they’ll be joined by the 40-piece orchestra/choir Wordless Music Ochestra, conducted by Robert Ames. Jonsi & Alex say:
We’re so happy to announce the North American tour for our album ‘Riceboy Sleeps’. Our album is turning 10 this year and we wanted to share in something special together…
After all these years and having never fully realized our album in a live environment we are so excited to come play a few special shows… We’ll be playing together with the Wordless Music Orchestra and Choir. And we’ll be playing in some really beautiful rooms and we can’t wait to share in this experience together… Thank you so much for all the love and support… And thank you for listening…
The Brooklyn show happens on Halloween at Kings Theatre (tickets). All dates are listed below.
