Josh Ritter has announced his new album, Fever Breaks, which will be out April 26 via Pytheas Recordings/Thirty Tigers. The album was produced by Jason Isbell and features his band the 400 Unit, which includes Derry Deborja (piano, organ and Hohner accordion), Chad Gamble (drums and percussion), Jimbo Hart (fender electric, ukulele and upright bass), Sadler Vaden (electric guitar, acoustic guitar and 12 string acoustic guitar) and Amanda Shires (violin and vocals). The first single is gritty rocker “Old Black Magic” which you can listen to below.

Shortly after the album’s release, Josh Ritter & The Royal City Band will be on tour, kicking things off in Toronto on May 8 and hitting Montreal, Boston, Philly, DC, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Austin, L.A., San Francisco, Seattle and many more cities this spring and early summer. Most of those dates are with Penny & Sparrow but a few are with Amanda Shires. He’s also got a few fall shows with Amanda, including NYC’s Beacon Theatre on September 21. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, February 1 at 10 AM with presales starting Wednesday (1/30) at 10 AM.
