June of 44 playing first Northeast shows in over 20 years this spring

Louisville post-hardcore/math rock/post-rock greats June of 44 have been reunited since 2018, and that reunion continues in Chicago tonight (1/25) with support from local vets Poison Arrows (and tickets are still available), and now after nearly two years reunited, they’re finally set to play the Northeast!

So far, they announced two shows: New Haven’s State House on May 8 with War Bubble (the current band of Talk Normal’s Sarah Register and former Swirlies member Christina Files, the latter of whom worked on June of 44’s final album, 1999’s Anahata) and Brooklyn’s Market Hotel on May 9 with Wormholes. Tickets for New Haven and Brooklyn are on sale now.

That will be June of 44’s first NYC show since 1999, and according to the State House’s event listing, it’s actually their first-ever time playing New Haven. Those are June of 44’s only scheduled shows at the moment, but stay tuned in case more are added.

June of 44 are also apparently working on new music, so fingers crossed for that! Meanwhile, watch a video of one last year’s West Coast reunion shows below…
