Jungle played NYC and SXSW, announce North American tour dates, including Bowery Ballroom (tickets on sale)

Jungle @ SXSW 2014 (more by Amanda Hatfield)
UK dance act Jungle were just over playing their first-ever U.S. dates, which included two in NYC one in LA and a slew at SXSW, where they were one of the more talked-about acts at the fest. A duo in the studio, Jungle played as a five-piece here and enigmatic main men T and J kept some of the anonymity going via large microphone windscreens which obscured their faces onstage. It seems a bit silly as no one at the Knitting Factory show seemed to care, they were too busy dancing -- the live band is tight and groovy and people (at the show I saw) were super into it. While too many of their songs sound exactly like the terrific single "The Heat" to me, I seemed to be the only one bothered by this. They are a lot of fun live.
Jungle are coming back for a proper (if short) North American tour in June, which includes a NYC stop at Bowery Ballroom on 6/18. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
