Kanye SNL

Kanye West played SNL w/ Kid Cudi, Lil Pump, Teyana Taylor, 070 Shake (watch)

Kanye West (I mean YE) was the musical guest on the season 44 premiere of Saturday Night Live. For his first performance, he brought out Lil Pump for their recent collaborative single “I Love It,” and they were both dressed as water bottles (Kanye was Perrier, Pump was Fiji). Adele Givens, who also has an appearance on the track, was projected on the screen behind them. It was… weird. Watch below.

Kanye’s second performance saw him bringing out Teyana Taylor and doing “We Got Love,” which was reportedly recorded for her recent Kanye-produced album K.T.S.E. but left off due to sample clearance issues. Watch that performance below too.

As the credits rolled, Kanye did a third and final performance: “Ghost Town” from his recent album ye with Kid Cudi, 070 Shake, Ty Dolla $ign and the SNL house band (while wearing a MAGA hat). Kanye also gave a speech about his politics after that last performance, which SNL didn’t air, but which Chris Rock (who was in the audience) captured on his Instagram story. Watch below.

Kanye was supposed to drop his new album YANDHI Saturday night too, but Saturday came and went with no YANDHI. UPDATE: Now it’s apparently coming in November, and Kim Kardashian says it’s worth the wait:

The Adam Driver-hosted episode began with a cold open that took on the Brett Kavanaugh testimony with Matt Damon as Kavanaugh. Watch a clip below. There were also several references to Pete Davidson’s relationship with Ariana Grande, including the skit about Kyle Mooney’s jealousy of Pete, which included a cameo from Kid Cudi (clip below).

SNL continues on October 6 with host Awkwafina and musical guest Travis Scott, and October 13 with host Seth Meyers and musical guest Paul Simon.
