GLOW is a new Netflix dramedy loosely based on the actual late ’80s all-female pro wrestling league of the same (“Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling”) which is from some of the same creative team as Orange is the new Black. The show stars Alison Brie (Community) as a wannabe thespian who gets in the ring from desperation, as well as Marc Maron as the skeezy TV producer who creates it. But you may also notice that the character of Rhonda “Britannica” Richardson is played by none other than singer-songwriter Kate Nash. She has done a little bit of acting over the last few years but this is her first major role. You can watch the trailer for Glow and a junket interview with Nash and Marc Maron below.

In other news, Kate Nash is working on her fourth album which she funded via Kickstarter. The release date is still up in the air, hinging on whether or not GLOW gets a second season. “It really depends on whether we shoot earlier or later,” she told The Radio Times. “I have to put the album out by February, because of Kickstarter.” Stay tuned.
