Rapper, poet, author and playwright Kate Tempest releases her new album, The Book of Traps and Lessons, this week. She made it with Dan Carey -- who produced her first two albums -- and the legendary hip hop and rock producer Rick Rubin. The whole album is streaming now at NPR and you can watch the "Holy Elixir" video below.

As amazing as Kate is on record, she really connects at her live shows which are not to be missed. She's just announced a few U.S. live dates for the fall, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle, and she'll wrap things up with a show at Brooklyn's Elsewhere on October 1. Tickets for Elsewhere go on sale Wednesday, June 12 at 10 AM.
