Kendrick Lamar releasing his new album next week
Last week, Kendrick Lamar released the great new single “Humble” (prod. Mike WiLL Made-It), which followed the previous week’s “The Heart Part 4.” “The Heart Part 4” contained the lyric, “Y’all got ’til April the 7th to get y’all shit together,” which fueled speculation that Kendrick’s new album would drop on 4/7 (which is less than an hour from now). Turns out 4/7 is actually the day pre-orders go up. But the good news is we won’t have to wait too much longer to hear the whole thing — it’s out next week! (April 14)
Pre-order it here. All we know so far is it has 14 songs and one of them is “Humble.” It comes out on Top Dawg Entertainment/Aftermath/Interscope. (It’s currently listed on iTunes as ALBUM with blank black artwork, though both of those things seem subject to change.) Revisit “Humble” below.
Two days after Kendrick’s album drops, he headlines weekend one of Coachella. If you won’t be at the festival, you can stream his set live. In May, he headlines the Rolling Loud Festival.
