Keren Ann touring in support of '101' (dates & new video)

Keren Ann at The Bell House – 12/10/10 (

Invoking a certain 1960s Parisian look, Keren Ann took the stage dressed in all black, sporting a fresh bob hairstyle. Backed with a trumpet, drums, and guitar, Ann stood smiling and gently cradling a worn vintage Martin acoustic before easing into the opener “All The Beautiful Girls.”

Despite just getting off of a plane from Paris, Ann was in fine form looking relaxed yet confident and sounding enchanting as ever as she eased in to the elegalic “Chelsea Burns” off of her fourth album “Nolita.” Looking Dylanesque with an old acoustic and harmonica, Ann played sparse chords while singing candlelight whispers. -[Death + Taxes]

The above review comes from Keren Ann‘s recent appearance at The Bell House in Brooklyn, one of four shows that the vocalist played in early December (three of which were in NYC – the other two were at Joe’s Pub) .

Now comes word that Keren has scheduled another two NYC dates as part of a North American tour to support her previously discussed LP 101 (out 3/22 on Blue Note). Tickets go on regular sale at noon on 1/21 for The Bell House on June 7 and Bowery Ballroom on June 8 (AMEX presale at Bowery is happening now). .

Keren recently dropped the video for “My Name is Trouble”, a song off the new album. Watch that, and check out all tour dates, below…

“I was looking to create a robotic yet feminine atmosphere with a modern choreography–one that I am able to follow not being the greatest dancer of all times,” says Keren Ann of the video. “The dress by Alexandre Vauthier is very important. The director, Benjamin Seroussi, has his own true sense of aesthetics. I wanted a blend of architecture and motion with a twist of a religious cult.”
