Kevin Morby shares "Dorothy" video ++ pics from his BV SXSW day party set

Kevin Morby at Cheer Up Charlies

Kevin Morby‘s terrific new album Singing Saw is out April 15 and he’s just shared another song from it, “Dorothy.” The song is not about a girl, as Kevin explains:

Being a musician, when you find yourself at home and off of tour, all the people, places and things you encountered on tour seem like some wild dream. Dorothy, my guitar, represents the people I’ve encountered and experiences I’ve had over the past 7 years of touring, because she has always been there with me.

The video for the song, directed by Christopher Good, is a visual representation of that wild dream, and continues Morby’s streak of great videos. (A rare commodity these days). Watch it below.

Kevin was in Austin last week for SXSW where he played BrooklynVegan’s Friday day party. A set of pictures from his fantastic set are in this post. His North American tour with Jaye Bartell starts in June and hits Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on June 22. Tickets are still available.
