The first Bill & Ted movie in 29 years, Bill & Ted 3: Face the Music, is coming in 2020 with original stars Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves reprising their beloved roles as Bill and Ted, and it's now been revealed that the music-nerd-friendly movie will also star a prominent musician: Kid Cudi. As Pitchfork points out, a press release says that Cudi "has a significant role" in the film.

The film, which is directed by Dean Parisot and written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, is scheduled to begin production this summer and set to be released August 21, 2020. The synopsis of the new movie is that Bill and Ted "set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe."

UPDATE (6/20): Anthony Carrigan, who had a breakout role as Noho Hank on HBO's Barry, has been tapped to play the villain, as The Hollywood Reporter reports.
