King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard postponing North American tour amid coronavirus

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard were scheduled to kick off a North American spring tour next month, which included a Brooklyn show at Kings Theatre, but the band is postponing the tour due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. “The science says no large gatherings so unfortunately we’re postponing all April/May shows,” they write. “Playing music for y’all means so much to us so we’ll be rescheduling as many shows as we possibly can. Hold onto your tickets as they will be valid for the new dates, otherwise the venues will be offering refunds. We’ll keep you posted.” The band is also promising refunds to those who purchased tickets to the band’s upcoming film Chunky Shrapnel, which was scheduled for advance screenings at Chicago’s Astor Theatre on April 3 and 4.

Despite the postponement, the band are promising new music, and offered support to fans. “We’ll be listening to experts and taking advice about what is best for the human race going forward. Heaps of new tunes on the way too. Stay home. Look after each other.”
