NYC music venue Knitting Factory opened in 1987 on Houston St, moved to Leonard St in Tribeca in 1994, and moved again to its current Williamsburg location at 361 Metropolitan Ave in 2009. This year, the venue celebrates its 30th anniversary with Knit Ball, a week-long series of shows. The venue says: “Knit Ball 2017 is the celebration of 30 years of music, food and style. Knitting Factory opened its doors in NYC in 1987 and since has gone on to become not only a music venue, but also a record label, artist management, consultant, and national concert promoter. We are celebrating the original New York establishment with a week-long festival featuring international performers.”

The shows include one night presented by BrooklynVegan on November 14 with post-rockers This Will Destroy You and Sannhet. That’s the Brooklyn stop of a short tour those two bands will be on this fall.

Our metal sister site Invisible Oranges is presenting the November 18 show, which has metallic hardcore band Nails. Update: Woe and Couch Slut are opening the Nails show.

Other bands playing Knit Ball shows include We Are Scientists, JMSN, and Jukebox the Ghost, and there are more acts and shows TBA. Tickets for all Knit Ball shows go on sale Friday (9/8) at noon. Flyers below.
