Chicago rapper/singer/producer Kweku Collins deservedly picked up buzz last year for his debut album Nat Love, and he quickly followed it with this year's Grey EP, which features Allan Kingdom, Kipp Stone, and cellist Sylvie Grace. Kweku produced the whole nine-song EP himself and it pulls from rap, R&B, and even indie rock with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs-interpolating "Oasis2: Maps." It never really fits neatly into any of those categories though, and it certainly isn't following any trends. Listen to the whole thing below.

Kweku is playing some shows this December with his Chicago neighbor Femdot, whose raps and production are a little more traditional but gripping in their own way. He recently released the 17-track 20/20 Hour project, which comprises the f(u)our, thr(we), to(u) and (u)no EPs that he put out over the past year and a half. Listen below.

Kweku and Femdot will play NYC on December 8 at Baby's All Right (tickets). They also have shows together in Philly and DC.

Before that, Kweku plays Wisconsin's Freakfest Halloween weekend with D.R.A.M., George Clinton, and more; and Red Bull Sound Select's 30 Days In Chicago in November. All of his dates are listed below.
