Kyle Forester streaming debut LP, playing Alphaville tonight, then opening for Fred Thomas

Kyle Forester

Kyle Forester (Crystal Stilts/Ladybug Transistor) will release his new self-titled LP this week. Though he’s mainly known as a keyboard player, the album is full of airy, acoustic guitar pop laden with harmonies, that recalls the golden era of ’70s singer songwriters, with maybe a little Nada Surf in there. It makes for an easygoing afternoon listen and you can stream the whole thing right now, premiering in this post.

As mentioned, Kyle is celebrating the LP tonight (5/18) at Alphaville. It’s a bit of an unofficial NYC Popfest pre-party, with Pale Lights (ft. Comet Gain’s Phill Sutton), Bill Botting (the mustachioed bassist for Allo Darlin’), and George Sand. Tickets are on sale.

You can also catch Kyle on May 28 at Cake Shop where he’ll open for Fred Thomas (Saturday Looks Good to Me). Tickets for that show are also on sale.

That’s the last date of a tour for Fred Thomas, whose very good solo debut LP All Are Saved came out last year on Polyvinyl. All of his dates are listed below.
