L7 announce first new LP since 1999, expand tour

Following a couple of comeback singles, grunge vets L7 have announced they’ll release their first new full-length album since 1999, which will be out in 2019 via Don Giovanni. Details are still forthcoming but here’s what they say via their PledgeMusic page for the record:

After having an amazingly great experience with our L7 reunion tour in 2015 as well the release of a documentary on our band, “L7: Pretend We’re Dead”, the band felt inspired to do some songwriting and return to the studio once again. The end results were recording the tracks “Dispatch From Mar-a-Lago” and “I Came Back to Bitch”. Our first new tunes in 18 years!

We’ve had such a blast hanging out, writing, and recording with each other again that we decided to keep the ball rolling. More song ideas have been flowing out of us every time we get together and play, so we’ve decided to make a full length album which we will record this year.

You can preorder the new album via Pledgemusic now.

L7’s North American tour kicks off Tuesday (4/10) at Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall (tickets) and then hits NYC’s Brooklyn Steel on Thursday (4/12, tickets). Both shows are with Death Valley Girls. Spring dates wrap up in Detroit which is a John Waters birthday party  — you may remember they’re in his film Serial Mom as “Camel Lips.” They’re also playing Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas in May.

Since our last post, L7 have expanded their tour, adding European shows, and a few more North American shows this summer. All dates are listed below.
