LA Priest shares "Beginning" from new LP 'GENE', reschedules tour

LA Priest, aka onetime Late of the Pier frontman Sam Estgate, has shared another new song from his forthcoming album, GENE, which was originally scheduled for April but will now be out June 5 via Domino. With that news comes funky, elastic new single “Beginning” and its video featuring Sam trekking across the North Wales while wielding a seven-foot Flying-V guitar. You can watch that below.

GENE, by the way, is also the name of Sam’s custom-built drum machine on which the record was made — it’s also featured on the cover of the album — and you can play around with it too, via an online emulator. LA Priest have also rescheduled their tour for the fall, including North American dates in November, beginning at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on 11/14. Let’s hope the world’s back to some kind of normal by then. Before that, LA Priest will host a “Live from the Shed” livestream on May 16 at 3 PM Eastern.

All dates are listed below.
