La Sera and Springtime Carnivore ready collaborative punk covers LP (listen), touring together
La Sera, who released Music For Listening to Music To back in March, will be out on the road this fall with fellow LA band Springtime Carnivore. Dates include two stops in NYC: Mercury Lounge on October 22 and Baby’s All Right on October 23. Tickets for Mercury Lounge go on sale Friday, August 12 at noon with an AmEx presale beginning Wednesday (8/10) at noon, and Baby’s will be on sale soon. All dates are listed below.
Springtime Carnivore is the project of singer-songwriter Greta Morgan, and her new album Midnight Room is due out October 7 on Autumn Tone Records. You can listen to the joyous, poppy first single “Face the Moon” below.
Greta and La Sera’s Katy Goodman are also releasing a collaborative covers album, Take It, It’s Yours, which will be released on August 26 on Polyvinyl Records. On it they offer up spare, moody, folky takes on songs by The Replacements, Wipers, The Stooges, Billy Idol, The Jam and more. You can listen to their versions of The Buzzcocks’ “Ever Fallen in Love” and the Mats’ “Bastards of Young” below. That album is out August 26 via Polyvinyl.
