The hate-mongering, “God hates fags”-spouting Westboro Baptist Church have announced plans to picket at Richmond, VA’s Virginia State Capitol on Monday (3/11) to protest the election of Danica Roem, vocalist in thrash metal band Cab Ride Home and the nation’s first openly transgender state representative. In a bizarre, nonsensical “news release,” WBC call Danica an “enemy of God” and a “proud abominable transgender rebel.” Happily, Danica has been able to use the media attention to her advantage, raising money towards her reelection campaign.

Richmond native and Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe is also cooking up a little welcome reception for WBC’s picketing. He posted to Instagram, inviting people to come out for a “counter-party” and “kazoo champagne jam.” “I WILL BE BRINGING 100 KAZOOS,” Randy writes. “WE WILL HAVE A #KAZOO #CHAMPAGNEJAM. WE WILL PLAY THE “BENNY HILL” & “SANFORD & SONS” THEME SONGS. WE WILL DROWN THEM OUT WITH CHEAP BUZZING PLASTIC NOISE MAKERS. I will also be bringing a BRAND NEW 100 DOLLAR BILL as a CASH PRIZE for BEST COSTUME worn to the #COUNTERPARTY.”
