Laura Lee & The Jettes share “Wasteland” video ft Eddie Argos, playing SXSW & NYC’s New Colossus
Formerly one half of Berlin's Gurr, Laura Lee released her solo debut, Wasteland, back in December. It's an album full of gnawing, riffy and very catchy indie rock -- listen to the album below.
She's also got a new video for Wasteland's title track, directed by Stefanie Schmid Rincon, that is set in the kind of bar where everyone's a regular but no one pays attention to the band. It also features Art Brut's Eddie Argos as the band's spoken word opening act. "The video is an ode to bar life and shot at one of our favourite bars in Berlin," Laura tells us. "It celebrates the unique characters that make the city's nightlife so great. I love how everybody is self-involved, yet there is still a real sense of community."

Laura Lee & The Jettes will be in the US soon, first playing NYC's New Colossus Fest and then heading to Austin for SXSW. New Colossus shows include: Berlin Under A on March 11 with The Natvral, Zoon, Thus Love and Blushing; March 12 at Berlin Under A with Toflang, Shred Flintstone, Slow Fiction, Mary Shelley and Pottery's Paul Jacobs; and a free day party on March 13 at Arlene Grocery with The Garrys, The Natvral, Nicole Yun (Eternal Summers), Diary, Blushing, Yeah Baby, and Thus Love.
