LCD Soundsystem covered Prince's "Controversy" at Coachella weekend 2 (video, pics, setlist)

Prince’s spirit loomed large over the first night of Coachella weekend 2, with the palm trees lit purple the entire night, and many performers at least mentioning his passing. Others, like LCD Soundsytem, chose to do covers. James Murphy and the band dropped a cover of his 1981 single “Controversy” into the middle of their set. Video of that is below. They also, like last weekend, covered David Bowie’s “Heroes,” along with playing loads of their own songs. Setlist is below.

Right before LCD took stage, they showed Prince’s legendary 2008 Coachella performance of Radiohead’s “Creep.” Photos from LCD’s Coachella Weekend 2 setlist continue below.
