The blue and red hair dye, the painted Timbs, the jewel encrusted clothing. It could only be dub legend Lee “Scratch” Perry that could add so much flavor to the influential reggae grooves at Highline Ballroom. The 74-year old played a show at the club (again) as one of only five US dates in celebration of Revelation, his new album and third release this year out now on Megawave.

After dates in Portland (ME), Boston, and Philly, the tour continues today (8/20) in Stephentown, NY at the Soulive-headlined Bella Terra Festival and concludes two days later in Los Angeles.

Lionize opened the show without guitarist Tim Sult (who is also in Clutch), bringing a whole new angle to the term stoner rock with their riffy-reggae infused take.
