Still brilliant and defiantly eccentric at 80, dub icon Lee "Scratch" Perry will be touring North America in August and September. Dates include a stop at Brooklyn Bowl on 9/22 where he'll perform his classic Super Ape in full, and beforehand they're screening documentary "Vision of Paradise" across the street at Kinfolk 90 (6 PM). Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, July 8 at 10 AM. All tour dates are listed below.

In other news, Perry is featuring on the second volume of the Sherwood at The Controls compilations, highlighting the influential production work of Adrian Sherwood who helped bridge reggae, dub and postpunk. Vol. 2 looks at Sherwood's work from 1985 - 1990 when his label On-U Sound was going strong and industrial acts like KMFDM, Ministry and others began seeking out his skills. Perry's contribution here is an unreleased version of "Music & Science Lovers" from the same sessions that resulted in 1987's Boom X De Devil Dead.

Volume 1 of Sherwood at the Controls features The Slits, The Fall, Shriekback and more. Both are recommended. You can stream both compilations in full, via Spotify, below.
