Leif Vollebekk nominated for Polaris Prize, touring this fall

Folky Montreal singer-songwriter Leif Vollebekk‘s most recent album, Twin Solitude, came out back in the winter and has made the shortlist for Canada’s Polars Music Prize, where it’s up against records by Feist, BADBADNOTGOOD and others who are also probably going to lose against Leonard Cohen’s You Want it Darker. That said, it’s a lovely record and if you haven’t checked it out yet you can stream it, and watch a live video for LP cut “Vancouver Time,” below.

Leif has just announced a few December North American tour dates, including one in NYC at Rough Trade on December 15. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, July 21 at noon with an AmEx presale beginning Wednesday (7/19) at noon.
