Les Savy Fav played played a bananas “secret” show at Saint Vitus (pics, setlist, video)
Les Savy Fav played their first show since the closing of Death By Audio at Saint Vitus on Sunday, June 5. While this was technically a "secret show," and LSV were listed as "Let's Stay Friends," it was no secret who was headlining. As you'd expect it was packed, sweaty and raucous for one of LSF's signature crazy live sets as they "warmed up" for ATP Iceland next month.
The band ripped through live staples like "What Would Wolves Do?," "Yawn Yawn Yawn," "The Sweat Descends" and "Lets Get Out of Here" with Tim Harrington in full-on Tim Harrington mode. At one point he was literally hanging by the rafters -- by his feet! -- as the crowd went equally bananas.
Regular Les Savy Fav drummer Harrison Haynes couldn't make it so Matt Schulz (Enon, Holy Fuck, SAVAK) filled in. Schulz has been a regular fill-in with the LSF-dominated Late Night with Seth Meyers 8G Band, although lately the show has had week-long guest-drummers instead. Local up-and-comers Wall, no slouches in the exciting live show department either, opened the night. Check out the LSF setlst and more instagrams/videos of the Saint Vitus show below.
