With the coronavirus pandemic keeping many of us home a lot more, we’ve been asking artists about the music they’ve been listening to in isolation, and this list comes from Dylan Desmond (center in the picture above) of Bell Witch, who recently announced a collaborative album with Aerial Ruin, Stygian Bough Volume I, due June 26 via Profound Lore.

Dylan says, “‘The secret to surviving is knowing what to throw away and knowing what to keep’ – Kenny Rogers. I chose to start this quarantine playlist with John Prine‘s version of ‘Clay Pigeons’. The theme is starting over, perhaps with nothing, and that notion seems invaluable today.” In addition to the late John Prine, the playlist includes the late Bill Withers, a song from the new Ulcerate album, and tracks by Ramleh, Lankum, Krzysztof Penderecki, Funereal Presence, and more.

Listen here:

Dylan Desmond’s Quarantine Playlist
John Prine – Clay Pigeons
Profetus – The Sadness of Time Passing
Lankum – Hunting the Wren
Funereal Presence – Wherein Achatius is Awakened and Called Upon
Ramleh – Bite the Bolster
Bill Withers – Aint No Sunshine
Rachmaninov – Isle of the Dead
Ulcerate – The Lifeless Advance
Krzysztof Penderecki – Threnody
Swallowed – Reverence Through Darkness
