NYC legends Blondie are releasing their 11th album, Pollinator, on May 5 via BMG. Ahead of the album’s release, Blondie are releasing the Blood Orange-penned “Long Time” as a 7″ single on Record Store Day (tomorrow, April 22), and it comes backed with the non-album track “The Breaks.” A stream of “The Breaks,” which is not a Kurtis Blow cover (but perhaps a tip of the hat to him), premieres in this post. Compared to the “Heart of Glass”-channeling “Long Time,” the driving, Johnny Marr-aided “My Monster,” and the Dave Sitek collab “Fun,” “The Breaks” is the most somber song Blondie have released in this album cycle so far. It’s a good one, too. Listen below.

Blondie have a co-headlining tour with Garbage, which hits NYC’s Beacon Theatre on August 1 (tickets). Debbie Harry also sings on the new Future Islands album.
