Mark Kozelek and Petra Haden‘s collaborative album, Joey Always Smiled, is out October 11 and here's a second song from it. A lot of Kozelek's songs play out like journal entries and "Spanish Hotels Are Echoey" is no different, this one involving a Spanish music festival (BIME perhaps?), Stephen Malkmus, Kurt Vile, dealing with depression and other recollections across its 12-minute running time. The backing track is light and airy, with Petra providing ethereal harmonies. The song premieres in this post and you can listen below.

In other news, Mark has changed the release date of his second album with Jim White and Ben Boye, and that will now be out February 7, 2020 on Caldo Verde Records. (It was originally scheduled for March.) He's also revealed the cover art and tracklist for that, titled Mark Kozelek with Ben Boye and Jim White 2, and you can check that out below, too.

Still more: Mark will release a book, Nights of Passed Over 2, which collects lyrics from all full-length albums, collaborations, EPs and singles from 2010 to 2019. That's out out on hardback on October 27 via Caldo Verde and you can check out the cover art below.

Last but not least, Mark's tour just got underway this week and hits Calgary tonight (9/4). All dates are listed below.
