matt berninger social distancing distortion playlist

listen to Matt Berninger of The National's "Social Distancing Distortion" playlist

A lot of people have found themselves with more time on their hands due to self-quarantining and social distancing due to the coronavirus. The National frontman Matt Berninger made a playlist he called “Social Distancing Distortion” over the weekend that he shared, song by song, via his Instagram stories, and included tracks by Nick Drake, Joan Shelley, The Breeders, Chris Isaak, Neil Young, Lucy Dacus, Podipto, Bill Jerpe and, of course, Social Distortion. He didn’t actually share the playlist on Spotify or another streaming service, so we’ve put it together in the same order he listed it. Listen below.

Matt Berninger recently covered Mercury Rev’s “Holes” for the 7 Inches for Planned Parenthood series (and played it live at the 2020 Tibet House Benefit).
