Mercury Rev are releasing the guest-filled tribute to Bobbie Gentry, The Delta Sweete Revisited, in February and they've just shared "Big Boss Man" that features vocals from Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval. It's a radical rework from Gentry's funky, southern-fried original, and its chilled-out vibe fits perfectly with Sandoval's smoky delivery. You can listen to both the original and the cover below.

The Delta Sweete Revisited, which is a track-for-track cover of Gentry's 1968 cult classic, also features vocals from Margo Price, Phoebe Bridgers, Lucinda Williams, Vashti Bunyan, Rachel Goswell (Slowdive), Lætitia Sadier (Stereolab), Kaela Sinclair (M83), Beth Orton, Susanne Sundfør, Norah Jones, and Carice van Houten. It's out February 8 via Partisan/Bella Union.
