listen to new Archers of Loaf song "Talking Over Talk"

North Carolina indie rock greats Archers of Loaf should have a new record on the way sometime soon, hopefully, and while we wait for details, here’s a new song, “Talking Over Talk,” that’s set to slow simmer and makes good use of Eric Bachmann’s smoky pipes.

The song is from a new digital single that is due next week and looks to have another song with it too, “Cruel Reminder,” if the cover art in the YouTube stream is any indication. Also next week, Archers of Loaf will host a streaming screening of their concert film What Did You Expect? on June 10 at 8 PM Eastern which will be followed by a conversation between the band and music writer Josh Modell. You’ll be able to watch both of those on 6/10 below.

Archers of Loaf released a cover of Rolling Stones’ “Street Fighting Man” back in May, and shared “Raleigh Days” — thier first new song in 20 years — in February. Both those songs will be released as a 7″ single for the August 27 Record Store Day “RSD Drop.” You can listen to both of those below as well.

You can also watch the Loaf play Oklahoma in 1994.
