Little Big League & Motion Studies added to BV Northside show w/ Operators (Divine Fits/Wolf Parade/H Furs related)

Little Big League at The Studio at Webster Hall in May (more by Mimi Hong)

We recently announced that the BrooklynVegan Northside showcase happens Friday the 13th at Baby’s All Right with Operators, the new band of Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs, Divine Fits). We now have openers too!

First is Brooklyn’s Motion Studies (who we profiled in 2012). They make funky, disco/house-inspired pop and have a few releases out on the GODMODE label (Yvette, Shamir) which you can stream below. GODMODE founder Nick Sylvester (also of Mr. Dream) plays drums in what is mainly the project of Tyler McCauley who also played in Grooms, Teen Witch and other bands.

Up next is Philly’s Little Big League (who perhaps you caught at The Studio at Webster Hall last month). Their mix of indie rock, punk and folkier songwriting is in line with Speedy Ortiz, Hop Along, Swearin’, etc and fans of those bands should dig this one as well. Stream “Year of the Sunhouse” off their upcoming split with Ovlov, below.

$15 advance tickets for the show are still available, and a limited amount of Northside badges will be welcome too. Show starts at 8 PM, ends by 11. 21+.
