Little Simz and Jojo Abot playing (separate) Brooklyn shows this week

British rapper Little Simz has some upcoming tour dates with Ab-Soul, but first she’ll play a free show in NYC this Thursday (4/6) at House of Vans with Kitty Kash. RSVP is required, but admission is first come, first served. All of her tour dates are listed below.

Simz recently got a pretty big co-sign from Lauryn Hill, and opened Lauryn’s recent Radio City show. Kendrick Lamar likes her too (he said she “might be the illest doing it right now”). Simz recently spoke to W Magazine about the first time she met Lauryn Hill:

We first met in Berkeley, where I played a show with her. It was wild, as you can imagine. She was really lovely and down-to-earth. I’ve idolized her for as long as I can remember. Anyone who knows me knows that she’s one of my biggest inspirations. To have the opportunity to tour with her was…insane. Her fierceness inspires me and her ability to be more than one thing; she’s able to act, sing, play instruments, rap, give talks at universities. She’s a well-rounded human being who’s good at everything.

That Radio City show was also opened by NYC-via-Ghana psychedelic soul singer Jojo Abot, who also has an imminent NYC show at Baby’s All Right on April 9 (tickets).
