Liverpool's Bad Meds are deadbeat descendants of pitch-black post-punk, and you can hear echoes of The Fall and The Birthday Party (and AmRep aggro) in their self-titled EP which is out via Maple Death. The EP includes four paranoid originals and a cover of "It's Grim Up North," the 1990 single by The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu (who would soon rename themselves The KLF). We've got the opening salvo "Hoax Apocalypse" which details "car park donuts and trench coat chic" among other horrors. Turn it up below.

Bad Meds play their hometown's Liverpool Sound City fest at the end of the May. Let's hope North America is in their tour plans soon.
