Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond specializes in delicate yet tuneful chamber pop, employing the use of vibes, mandolin, theremin and bass clarinet in addition to the usual stringed/percussive suspects (guitar/bass/drums). The Portland crew is prepping to release their new LP Little Me Will Start A Storm on 2/22 via Tender Loving Empire, and you can check out album openers "Blue Lead Fences" and "Elephants & Little Girls" above; the former makes its first appearance here (the latter we first posted way back in November). The LP is currently up for preorder.

Loch Lomond will celebrate the release of their new LP on 2/26 at the Alberta Rose Theater in Portland where they'll be joined by Damien Jurado and Viva Voce (Kevin Robinson of VV assisted in the LP's mix). So far there are no plans to make it to NYC, but if you're heading down to SXSW you can catch them at the Terrorbird/Force Field showcase on 3/16 at Red 7 as well as at other shows TBA.

Speaking of SXSW, Loch Lomond played the official BrooklynVegan showcase there in 2009. Check out who's playing the BV showcase in 2011.
