As the first Latino to headline Lollapalooza, Colombian singer J Balvin was surely in the mood for a Saturday night party. “I am so grateful to be right here,” he said. “This is our time, this is our moment. This is our time to make our dreams come true.” In contrast to the rapid-fire rapping of Daddy Yankee, who cleared a path for reggaeton in the pop mainstream, Balvin relies on a more relaxed, sultry rap-singing style over the galloping reggaeton beats. His easy-going melodies and unstrained vocals proved a perfect soundtrack for a warm summer night. [The Chicago Tribune]

The 2019 edition of Lollapalooza continued on Saturday (8/3) with sets from J. Balvin, Lil Wayne (who remixed Lil Nas X's unstoppable, ubiquitous hit "Old Town Road" - watch that happen below), Tenacious D, Gunna, Lil Skies, Gary Clark Jr., Smino, Jade Bird, Men I Trust, and more. Check out pictures from the whole day in the gallery above.

Lollapalooza wraps up on Sunday (8/4), and if you aren't in Chicago for the festival, some sets are streaming live. Check out our pictures from Thursday HERE and Friday HERE, as well as our 11 non-headliners not to miss.
